Canadian-manufactured modular rooms available in single and double-walled designs effectively attenuate noise, keeping sound in or out. Application, and the host space environment will determine the size and design that we recommend.

Our beginnings are rooted in these modular rooms; standard sizes, as well as custom enclosures are available.

Privacy Pods & Studios

Single person (pod) and multiple occupant (studio) privacy rooms provide an isolated space in areas with low to moderate ambient noise levels. Fabricated using a thinner modular panel and alternate fill material than our sound rooms and suites, pods provide adequate results. Numerous applications, standard and custom sizes and easy assembly, these rooms are popular for a wide range of uses including:

confidential conversations
work place privacy
meeting room privacy
voice recording for radio, podcasts, YouTube, etc.

Acoustic Panels

Metal frame 2 or 3 inch modular panels for robust sound solution when impact or durability is needed. Applications for these panels are limitless. Installation over hard surface walls and ceilings increases absorption to reduce reverberation, resulting in reduction of noise levels in the area. Standard and custom sizes can be painted in any colour to compliment host space finishes. . Applications include:

Relocation & Installation

We have 20 years experience completing hundreds of sound room relocations and installations. MJM Acoustics has the knowledge needed to provide services for all manufacture make test rooms and suites.

Our expertise ensures the correct and safe dismantling, transportation, and assembly, maintaining your room's performance when reassembled after a move. There is no scenario we have not encountered and solved successfully over the years. Relocation services include:

Design & Consultation

Service & Maintenance

Through daily use, some of your acoustical enclosure components can require some adjustment or become worn out. We carry a full parts inventory of door gaskets, fans, and door hinges; please contact us for supply of parts needed for specific repairs.

MJM Acoustics recommends a service package for sound rooms be done every 18-24 months. Items checked/replaced include:

Ventilation Fans & Silencers

Fan output is checked to ensure proper function
Fans not meeting specifications are replaced
Ventilation boxes cleaned using specialized vacuum attachments, removing built up dust
Results in cleaner fasting airflow within test room

Doors & Hinges

Sound room doors are heavy
Repeated opening and closing places a great amount of stress on hinges.
Hinges and door gaskets are checked and adjusted for the maximum amount of sealing

Sound Reduction Test

Sound room performance is checked with sound level meter to ensure room is sufficiently attenuating the full range of frequencies

Upgrade & Modernize

Older sound rooms can be an uncomfortable and intimidating place for some. We carry a range of products that give older rooms a fresh look, or as an option for new.
